About Me

For more than twenty years, I've been helping individuals, families, small and medium-size businesses manage their growing I.T. needs.
In previous roles, I have been responsible for the planning, design, deployment, maintenance, and user-support of business servers and networks. Working primarily with Microsoft Windows systems, Active Directory and its related services, including DNS and email servers.
I've designed and managed networks for single users, families, and small businesses, as well as more complex, multi-site organisations.
I've held technical roles at several authorised repair centres, servicing brands including Apple, Dell, HP, IBM, and Microsoft.
I have technical experience with professional audio systems and live sound mixing, video conferencing systems, home theatres, and digital photography.
Since 2016, my primary focus has been on digital rights; protecting privacy, security, and anonymity, by utilising free and open source software (FOSS), Docker containers, and self-hosted solutions.
I'm constantly learning from the open source intelligence (OSINT) and cybersecurity communities; how personal information can be found online, and how that information might be leveraged by bad actors to target, manipulate, and track their victims.
There are effective measures that everyday users of technology can take to improve their privacy, security, and anonymity -- it's not an impossible task, but it is a persistent one. My mission is to educate and empower people with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves, and the people around them, from those who seek to exploit them and their data.
